Northern Lights Driver Education, LLC is now offering a Defensive Driving Course for those age 55+ people.
There will be two courses offered:
- Initial Course – $30 – 8 hours, to be held over two days, 4 hours each
- Refresher Course – $25 – 4 hours
Attendee certifications are good for three years. Must take Initial Course from Northern Lights Driver Education first, then update with Refresher Course every three years.
Attendees must be a minimum of 55 years old. You will receive a Certificate of Completion to present to your insurance company for a discount on your vehicle insurance, one vehicle per attendee. If two drivers and two vehicles in the family, both drivers must attend to take advantage of the discount on both vehicles.
Must bring driver’s license to class to receive a certificate.

Defensive Driving Courses for Age 55+

These classes are for persons age 55 and older to qualify for a 10% discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years after completion of the course. First-time participants must complete an initial eight hours of training to get the 10% discount and then complete a four-hour refresher class every three years to maintain the 10% discount.
